Katie is an extremely passionate advocate for children and mental health. She was born and raised in Elk River, Minnesota by her parents Dan and Jody Kreuser. Her family is the most important thing to her in this entire world!  She is blessed with a supportive family including her husband and two beautiful girls. Her brother and sister also gave her the awesome title of “Katie Auntie” to five of the cutest nieces. 

Katie's educational background includes an AA in multimedia and graphic design and an AA in business; she is currently working on her BA in psychology. 

Her nonprofit, Thumbs Up, was established in 2014 and raises money for mental health and suicide prevention.

What inspired The Ladybug Hug?

THE Ladybug Hug

I began writing The Ladybug Hug in 2007 after losing my friend to a fatal car accident; he was hit by a drunk driver.  His motto was "Follow your bliss".  It inspired me to go after this dream.  Then, sadly, in November of 2010, I lost my Grandpa Bob to suicide; his death once again inspired me to finish my book.  A portion of my yearly book sales will go to my nonprofit organization Thumbs Up, which raises money for mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
